The chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, has extended greetings to the Muslim Ummah across the nation on the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan and celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.
In his Sallah message signed by Kingsley Madaki, his senior special assistant on media and public affairs, Maikalangu urged residents to carry forward the lessons of piety, sacrifice, and discipline learned during the fast.
He said sustainable development of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) required the collective spiritual and physical support of all citizens.
The chairman used the occasion to once again express his profound gratitude to the minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, for his unwavering support and mentorship.
“As we celebrate this joyous occasion, I want to specially thank my mentor, the FCT minister, for his leadership and for standing by us.
“His support was instrumental in our recent re-election victory, a mandate we hold sacred as we continue delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of AMAC,” Maikalangu stated.
He further called on all residents to remain steadfast in their prayers for the minister, noting that the infrastructure revolution currently witnessed across the FCT is a testament to the minister’s vision and dedication.
The AMAC Boss also expressed deep appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for his wisdom in appointing Nyesom Wike to lead the FCT.
“We thank Mr President for giving the people of the FCT a performer like Wike. Wike’s appointment as the FCT minister has bridged the gap between the government and the grassroots; we are seeing the Renewed Hope Agenda in action through every road paved and every project completed,” he said.
The AMAC chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, promising that his second term will focus heavily on complementing the FCT minister’s efforts within the rural communities of AMAC.
“Let us celebrate in peace and continue to pray for the prosperity of our dear Council, the FCT, and Nigeria at large. Barka da Sallah,” he said.
