Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu has appealed to residents to assist in monitoring contracts awarded by the council to avoid execution of shoddy and substandard projects.
Maikalangu made the appeal in Gwagwa community at a wedding ceremony of Mallam Alhassan Gwagwa, the elder son of the council secretary of AMAC, Hon Jafaru Musa Gwagwa, at the weekend.
The AMAC said the monitoring of the projects should be from start to finish because his administration would not condone any act of shoddiness and poor execution of contracts.
He also tasked residents to jealously guard against vandalism of all government installations and faculties across the area council, adding that residents have the right to protect every government installations in their communities.
Maikalangu assured that AMAC, under his watch, would continue to provide infrastructure, such as rural electrification, rural water supply, rural feeder roads and other interconnected rural services to the people.
The AMAC boss enjoined the residents to vote for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) at all levels during the 2023 general elections.
