As the 2nd United Nations Food Systems Summit approaches, IAWPA Africa President, King Amb. Eugine Mahlangu, has issued a welcome message to the general public, highlighting the significance of the summit, particularly for Africa and other developing nations.
“The upcoming Food Systems Summit is a crucial platform for addressing the pressing issues of food security, sustainability, and nutrition that affect us all,” King Amb. Eugine Mahlangu said. “As a global partner in the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), IAWPA is committed to contributing to the success of this summit and ensuring that the SDGs make a lasting impact on our world.”
King Amb. Eugine Mahlangu emphasized the importance of the summit for Africa and other third world nations, where food insecurity, poverty, and malnutrition are significant challenges. “We must work together to address these challenges and ensure that everyone has access to nutritious food and a healthy diet,” he said.
IAWPA, with its consultative status under the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations, is dedicated to promoting peace, sustainable development, and human well-being. The association looks forward to engaging with global leaders, stakeholders, and citizens to shape the future of food systems and advance the SDGs.
