According to a statement released by AMF’s director of media, Salisu Muhammed Tori, the award was presented during a courtesy visit by AMF to the Jigawa Government House in Dutse on Thursday, March 13, 2025. The visit, led by AMF chairman and founder, Abdullahi Mahmood, aimed to present the foundation’s activities and explore possible collaborations with the state government.

The event was attended by Governor Namadi, his Chief of Staff, Private Personal Secretary (PPS), several commissioners, special advisers, senior special assistants, and other dignitaries.

During the presentation, Mahmood detailed AMF’s programmes from 2023 to 2025, highlighting initiatives focused on community development, education, healthcare, and youth empowerment. According to the statement, the foundation has made a significant impact by organising two editions of football tournaments to promote unity among youths, sponsoring numerous surgeries and medical treatments for the less-privileged, hosting two Qur’anic Recitation Competitions and a Children’s Day event in 2024.

Other contributions to society included donation of hundreds of boxes of chalk to schools and supporting a school feeding programme, conducting a drug abuse awareness campaign across 35 secondary schools in Mallam-Madori local government area of the State, renovating and building mosques, repairing boreholes, and running a Ramadan feeding program, and providing cash empowerment programs for women and youths to support small businesses.

In his address, Abdullahi Mahmood congratulated Governor Namadi on his successful implementation of the state’s 12-point agenda, which he said had improved the welfare and well-being of Jigawa’s people. He praised the administration for putting Jigawa on both the national and global map through its development strides.

Presenting the Award of Excellence, Mahmood commended Namadi for his exceptional leadership and commitment to the state’s progress.

In response, Governor Namadi expressed his gratitude to AMF for its humanitarian efforts and support for his administration’s vision.

“I congratulate the Abdullahi Mahmood Foundation for the achievements it has recorded in the past two years of its humanitarian service in the state,” Namadi said.

He acknowledged the foundation’s role in improving the lives of the less privileged and assured government support for future collaborations.

“We will continue to work hard to improve the lives of our people and ensure that our campaign promises for a greater Jigawa State are delivered successfully,” he added.

Governor Namadi also thanked AMF for the award, stating that it was a recognition of his administration’s hard work and dedication to governance.

The visit and award presentation underscored the importance of collaboration between government and non-governmental organisations in driving sustainable development. With AMF’s continued interventions in education, healthcare, and youth empowerment, the foundation’s partnership with the Jigawa State government is expected to strengthen grassroots development initiatives further.
