The AMVCA 2026 red carpet delivered glamour, drama and standout fashion as celebrities arrived in Lagos in stunning outfits that instantly grabbed attention online. From bold couture designs to elegant statement pieces, these four dresses stood out as the night’s biggest fashion highlights.

Osas Ighodaro — The Ultimate Red Carpet Slayer

Osas obviously did not come to play. She always delivers, and this year she came to shut the carpet down again. From the dramatic silhouette to the flawless styling, every detail screamed superstar energy. Her most talked-about outfit was a custom ball gown ensemble by VeeKee James. The avant-garde skirt was entirely made from 400 repurposed metal-cleaning sponges. The look was bold, sculpted, and impossible to ignore. Cameras loved her, and honestly. So did everyone else.

Nana Akua Addo — The Queen of Fashion Theatre

Nana Akua Addo once again proved that she treats fashion like art. She is indeed the queen of fashion theatre for a reason. Her larger-than-life ensemble delivered pure magic with architectural details and jaw-dropping drama. Her outfits, designed by Mohammed ABBA’s Ossu, literalized fashion as architecture. Every step looked editorial and sculptural. Every pose is expensive.

Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman – Botanical Masterpiece

Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman, the double award winner, arrived in a beautiful, elegant, green metallic gown that had a liquid finish. The dress had a dramatic, branch-like extension that climbed from her left shoulder, framing her face with multicoloured blossoms, creating a living-garden aesthetic.

Mercy Eke — Royalty With Main Character Energy

Mercy Eke, as usual, arrived with modern African main-character energy. Her fiery mermaid dress, designed by Amy Aghomi, was inspired by Edo culture and featured intricate 3D beadwork that echoed traditional coral beads worn by Benin royals.

500 Loaves, One Dress – Queen Mercy Atang serves Bold Fashion Statement

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Mercy Atang, wore the most controversial, talked-about piece of the night. Her dress was designed by fashion icon Toyin Lawani of Tiannah’s Empire. The top of this dress featured elegant gold spangles and heavy embellishments. While the trunk was down, it was constructed with actual loaves of bread, 500 loaves of bread precisely.

This was cleverly done to promote her personal bakery business.

What made these looks unforgettable wasn’t just the glamour; it was about storytelling. While many stars leaned into fantasy couture, these ladies embraced heritage, elegance, and high-fashion drama in a way that felt powerful and intentional.

Fashion commentators praised the outfit for balancing art with wearability, making them one of the night’s strongest style stars.
