Ahead of the November 8, 2025, Anambra State governorship election, Ozo Jeff Nweke, candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), has pledged that his administration, if elected, will prioritise the well-being of the common people, particularly those living in the streets and labourers.
He described the governance culture in the state and nation at large as one centred on “selfishness,” where political and other public office occupants administer the office to better their personal lives and those of their family members, friends, and other associates.
He pledged that his administration would dismantle such a culture if inaugurated.
The AA governorship candidate, in a viral video on various online platforms, enunciated his mission for vying for the governorship position. He said that he had never been in politics and that ever since his public life, he has had a track record of championing the poor, including the youth, widows, and orphans. He promised that his desire to become governor is to entrench the same culture in public office.
He accused political officeholders of making fake promises to win elections only to abandon fulfilling such promises when they are elected.
He pledged that he will change the culture when elected saying “This time is for a complete turnaround. I am talking to you today not as a politician with empty promises because I am not a politician, I am not a liar”.
He promised that his administration would mark the first time the state will experience a government that will ” represent the common man, the streets and hustlers; I am the candidate”.
