Officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrived at the Community Primary School, Amawbia, in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State to monitor voting proceedings and prevent incidents of vote buying as the 2025 governorship election continues.
Dressed in their distinctive red jackets with the inscription “EFCC”, the operatives were seen moving across polling units within the school premises, observing the conduct of voters and electoral officials.
Officials of the anti-graft agency arrived alongside security agents, shortly after voting commenced.
The deployment of the EFCC officials is part of nationwide effort by the agency to curb electoral corruption and promote integrity in Nigeria’s voting process.
The Commission had earlier announced that its personnel would be stationed at strategic polling locations across the state to monitor compliance with electoral laws.
The Community Primary School, Amawbia, serves as one of the major polling centres in Awka South LGA, covering multiple wards, including Wards 01 and 02, where accreditation and voting began as early as 7a.m.
