Anchor Insurance Boss, Ebose Becomes NIA Assistant Treasurer

The Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) has elected the managing director/chief executive officer of Anchor Insurance Company Limited, Dr. Ebose Augustine Osegha, as its honorary assistant treasurer.

NIA is the umbrella body of all insurance and reinsurance companies in the country.

Dr. Ebose was elected to the position at the just-concluded election, which ended on Wednesday, June 25, 2025.  Before his election, Dr. Ebose had served as a member of the NIA Governing Council.

He was formally presented to the members of the body as Honorary Assistant Treasurer at the association’s 54th annual general meeting(AGM) held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, in Lagos.

Commenting on his election, the Anchor MD/CEO expressed excitement and promised to continue to contribute his quota to the growth of the Association in particular and the industry in general.

“I am happy to be elected the Honorary Assistant Treasurer of our great Association, NIA. I will continue to contribute my quota to the growth of the Association and the industry generally,” he said.

Dr. Ebose Augustine Osegha is the current MD/CEO of Anchor Insurance Company Limited. Before his appointment in February 2018, he was the company’s executive director, Business Development and Marketing. He joined Anchor Insurance in January 2017 from Standard Alliance Insurance Plc, where he was general manager/divisional head, Public Sector, Brokers Marketing and Emerging Markets.

He holds B.Sc (Hons.) degree in Economics, Delta State University, Abraka, Delta State; MBA, University of Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State; Masters in Business Administration, specialising in Management Research (M.Res. degree) from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Business Administration, specialising in Entrepreneurship and Small Scale Business Management, Babcock University, Ilishan, Ogun State.

Dr. Ebose is a member of the Governing Council, Nigerian Insurers’ Association (NIA); Fellow, Chartered Institute of Administrators and Member, Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN); Institute of Directors; Ikoyi Club 1938 and NAICOM’s Publicity/Communication Sub-Committee, among others.
