Titled Everybody Still Hates Chris, the animated series to premiere on Comedy Central features an adult Rock narrating stories inspired by his experience growing up as a skinny nerd in a working-class family in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, during the late 1980s.

Alongside Chris, Tichina Arnold and Terry Crews will reprise their roles as Chris’ parents in the half-hour adult animated series written by Rock and Sanjay Shah and produced by CBS Eye Animation Productions, Chris Rock Enterprises and 3 Arts Entertainment, and executive produced by Rock, Shah, Ali Leroi and 3 Arts Entertainment’s Michael Rotenberg and Dave Becky.

New cast include Tim Johnson Jr as young Chris, Ozioma Akagha as Chris’ baby sister Tonya, Terrence Little Gardenhigh as Chris’ younger brother Drew, and Gunnar Sizemore as Chris’ best friend Greg.

“I’m very excited to introduce the world to another funny side of my childhood,” said Rock in a statement.

“I wanted this job to get free tickets to a Chris Rock stand up show, but we ended up making something we’re proud of that is true to the original series we all loved,” said showrunner Sanjay Shah.
