The Organization For the Advancement of Anioma Culture (OFAAC), the umbrella body of Anioma culture, has expressed optimism that the organisation, in conjunction with the eminent Anioma traditional rulers, is ready to showcase the best cultural outing of all time in this year’s edition of the festival.
The president of OFAAC, Arc Kester Ifeadi, stated this in Asaba when he hosted Anioma stakeholders, directors, traditional rulers and representatives of major ethnic groups of Anioma people over the Anioma Cultural festival.
He said the 69 communities under the umbrella body of the Igbo speaking locality of the state would come out with their best in traditional arts, crafts, cuisine, dance, reading and personalities to add colour to the occasion.
While vowing to continue to be in the vanguard of strengthening the culture and identity of the Anioma people, he maintained that this year’s edition would showcase unimaginable innovations.
According to him, the organisation is a nonpartisan platform for the unity of Anioma people, created to support the creation of Anioma state.
“We are back with innovative ideas, having suspended the cultural festivities over the demise of our patron, the Asagba of Asaba, HRM Obi Prof Chike Edozien and the Omu Anioma, HRM Martha Dunkwu,” lfeadi said.
He commended the state government and other corporate bodies that helped sustain the annual festival.
The management team, which includes the vice president of OFAAC, Mr. Paddy Ugboh, secretary Ogbuechi Afam Ugah, Mr Emmanuel Ogwu, Mr Donatus Itoro, Barr. Monday Olodu, Chief Coordinator Prince Andrew Obi, and others, was commended for their strategic leadership support, which has distinguished OFAAC from other organisations.
