Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has  alleged a plot to disrupt their presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu rally slated for Thursday with hooded thugs.

Addressing journalists at the Tinubu/Shettima campaign office on Gbongan Road, Osogbo yesterday, the party’s acting chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, claimed that his party was privy to an intelligence that the Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had concluded plans to disrupt the rally.

The chairman who was represented by the party director of media, Chief Kola Olabisi stated that the party has also discovered that the Osun PDP has provided police and the Nigerian Army uniforms to be given to their numerous thugs on Thursday during the presidential rally.

“It was also learnt that the PDP is planning to kit the political hoodlums with branded APC uniforms and fez caps with a view to giving the false identities of the PDP-sponsored political thugs.

“Gathered information also revealed that the PDP has commissioned some urchins and thugs with a mandate to be throwing stones at the convoy of Tinubu/Shettima and all other APC dignitaries at Owode-Ede who will be  coming to the rally  on Thursday,” he said.

Reacting to the allegations, the state caretaker chairman of the PDP, Dr. Adekunle Akindele, described the allegations as “ridiculous, delusional and baseless.”

He said, “We find the APC and its Osun team as a bunch of illegitimate pretenders to power who daily suffer from delusional disorder and political instability. Having been rejected by the people, they see the ghost of their misadventure in power and endlessly chase shadow, levelling baseless allegations against credible leaders of the society…””
