The caretaker committee chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Chief Tony Okocha, yesterday paid a solidarity visit to members of the Rt. Hon. Martins Amaewhule-led House of Assembly at the Assembly Quarters in Port Harcourt.

The visit came less than 24 hours after Governor Siminalayi Fubara visited the quarters and announced the intention of his administration to begin renovation of the facility.

Speaking to newsmen after the visit, Okocha assured the lawmakers who are all APC members but loyal to the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chief Nyesom Wike, of support of the party.

He said: “Today I visited with the Rt Hon Martin Amaewhule,  Speaker of Rivers State House of Assembly, principal officers of the 10th Assembly and members. It wasn’t a “waka pass” mission but deliberate visitation.

“I watched on television how the chief law-breaker of Rivers State,  Gov Siminalayi  Fubara, forced himself in a gustavo and commando style with gun trotting official and unofficial security men into the residence of Assembly members yesterday, intimidating and harassing and sending scares on the children and residents of the beautiful edifice built with tax payers money and commissioned.

“I went to check up with them and to assure them of the unwavering support of the APC Rivers.
