A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ondo State chapter, Dr Akin-Thomas Babajide, has hailed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s rise to the presidency, describing it as a testament to resilience, strategic leadership, and grassroots mobilisation.

Dr Babajide praised Tinubu’s journey from humble beginnings to becoming a transformative leader, emphasising his unwavering commitment to national unity and progress.

He highlighted Tinubu’s innovative policies and deep connection with the aspirations of ordinary Nigerians, positioning him as a symbol of hope for millions.

“The foundation of Tinubu’s presidency was laid long before his formal declaration,” Dr Babajide noted, recounting his own role as the driving force behind the Coalition of Support Groups for Bola Ahmed Tinubu (COSGABAT).

He recalled the coalition’s inaugural meeting in 2021 in Ibadan, Oyo State, which united influential figures such as Musibau Ajimobi, brother of former Governor Abiola Ajimobi.

This effort, he explained, ignited a grassroots movement that gained momentum across the Southwest.

Dr Babajide also highlighted the significance of the One Million Solidarity Walk held on October 1, 2021, in Ibadan.

Supported by key stakeholders like former Youth and Sports Minister Sunday Dare and Mr Bimbo Kolade, the event showcased Tinubu’s widespread appeal, even in Oyo State, then governed by the opposition PDP.

Since taking office, President Tinubu has prioritized economic revitalisation, infrastructure development, and national cohesion.

According to Dr Babajide, Tinubu’s administration has implemented reforms that address critical challenges and lay the groundwork for a sustainable future.

Describing Tinubu as the “Messiah” Nigeria has awaited since independence, Dr Babajide expressed confidence in his leadership to steer the nation toward prosperity and transformation.

“Tinubu’s presidency is a beacon of hope, demonstrating the power of vision, determination, and collective effort. “As Nigeria charts a new course, his administration exemplifies the unity and purpose needed to drive national progress,” Dr Babajide said.
