The All Progressives Congress (APC) has disqualified Kayode Ojo and Abimbola Olajumoke-Olawumi from contesting its forthcoming Ekiti State governorship primary election.
On the other hand, the party cleared
Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji
and Atinuke Oluremi-Omolayo to participate in the exercise.
Deputy National Publicity Secretary
of the APC, Durosinmi Meseko, who announced this after the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) meeting in Abuja on Thursday, said the action followed consideration of the report of the APC Ekiti State Governorship Aspirant Screening Exercise.
He also disclosed that the NWC approved the dissolution of the APC Executive Committee in Enugu State with immediate effect, following a comprehensive review of the state of the party in the state.
According to Meseko, a seven-member Caretaker Committee has been constituted to oversee the affairs of the party in the state.
The committee, which will be inaugurated on Friday at the Party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, has Dr Ben Nwoye as Chairman, Hon. Eugene Odoh as Secretary; Fidelia Njoeze, Peter Chime, Dr Oby Ajih, Dr Chiedozie Nwafor and Emma Ekeh as members.
“The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held its 179th meeting at the Party’s National Secretariat, Abuja, on Thursday, 9th October, 2025, presided over by the National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda.
“At the conclusion of the meeting, the following resolutions were reached… APC National Reconciliation Committee – the APC National Reconciliation Committee, chaired by H.E. Chief Bisi Akande, will be inaugurated at a date to be announced soon.
“The timetable for the Party’s congresses across the country will be released soon. The APC Constitution Amendment Committee will commence public hearings within the month of October 2025.
“The APC Anambra State Governorship National Campaign Council will be inaugurated soon,” he added.
