While unveiling the distribution of the food items, including 5,840 bags of rice, to their members at Dawkin Kudu local government area yesterday, the APC State chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, said that the party had come to the rescue of their supporters and other indigenes to alleviate their economic hardship.

“The national chairman of APC, Dr Umar Ganduje, the Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, the chairman, House Committee on Appropriation, Bichi, and a host of others including myself and the Chief of Staff, Mallam Muhammad Garba, donated our money and purchased the rice for onward distribution to our members as palliatives.

“You can see that we used our personal money not donations from Dangote, BUA and the Federal Government to help our people but a whole state government is relying on donations to give out palliatives and this is despite the fact that a whooping N6 billion is set aside for that purpose,” the chairman stated.

He further explained that there was no way money would be set aside for a purpose and the issue would be left in secrecy. “The money, N6 billion, is not a small amount. The government should clearly spell out how and where they spent the money on Ramadan feedings,” he added.

The chief of staff to the APC national chairman, Muhammad Garba, who represented his boss, said they purchased 5,840 50kgs bags of rice, 1600 bags of millet, 2000 cartoons of spaghetti to give out to their supporters and others in Kano.

Garba, explained that the National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, coordinated the idea of the party palliatives along with the deputy senate president, Barau Jibrin, and others, all of who contributed to the purchase of the food items.

He added that 448 wards of the 44 local government areas in the state would benefit from the gesture which will be given to all party supporters, social media influencers of the party and other party staffers.
