The Benue State All Progressives Congress (APC) Elders Forum has backed the  removal of the state Chief Judge, Justice Maurice Ikpambese, by the House of Assembly, saying what they did was within the constitutional framework outlined in Section 292(1)(a)(ii) of the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria (as amended).

The forum which spoke  through the former senator representing Benue North East Senatorial District, sen. Barnabas Gemade made their views known during a press conference in Makurdi. They emphasised that justice Ikpambese was removed not as a judicial officer but as the chief judge of the state in line with the law which is within the powers of the governor and the House of Assembly

The forum also urged all detractors and mischief makers to steer clear of Governor Hyacinth Alia led administration and as well refrain from ill-motivated interference that could hinder collective progress.
