The National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has fixed the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party for July 24 to pick a new national chairman.

This decision was taken at the NWC meeting where Ali Dalori, the deputy national chairman (North) of the party, formally assumed office as the acting national chairman after the resignation of Dr Abdullahi Ganduje.

Addressing journalists shortly after the meeting at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja on Monday, the APC Deputy National Secretary, Festus Fuanter, said the NEC meeting will allow the party to nominate a fresh national chairman for the party.

Fuanter said, a notice for the NEC meeting has already been dispatched to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
