Official flags of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were on Monday hoisted at the Kano State Government House ahead of the formal return of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to the ruling party.

Governor Yusuf is expected to formally register as an APC member on Monday alongside 22 lawmakers, eight House of Representatives members and 44 local government chairmen.

A statement issued on Sunday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Dawakin-Tofa, said the decision to return to the APC was guided by “prevailing realities of governance, national cohesion and development.”

The statement also noted that the governor was expected to officially flag off the APC electronic membership registration exercise in Kano this Monday.
