The Youth Wing of the Akwa Ibom Democratic Forum (ADF) has applauded the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio and the Minister of Petroleum (Gas), Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo over various interventionist schemes for the youths across 31 local government areas of the state.
Speaking in the spirit of the yuletide season, the group prayed for God’s protection and good health for the duo and their respective families as the New Year beckons, with hope of a renewed action towards nation building that prioritise the youths as the rallying point.
ADF also commended the Minister for numerous achievements recorded so far over the past one year in office, assuring that he would initiate more life – enhancing projects in 2025 for the benefit of Nigerians.
The National Coordinator of the group, Comrade Uko Ubong Fidelis, who stated this during a media roundtable at Abak local government area over the weekend said the commendation followed the assessment of the minister’s performance after his one year in office.
Fidelis also expressed gratitude to Senator Akpabio for his undiluted support to President Bola Tinubu’s effort in reforming the sociopolitical and economic landscape of the country.
He extolled Hon. Ekpo for making remarkable strides in the gas sector, including attracting investment for gas infrastructure, reducing gas flaring and stabilising domestic LPG prices.
He recalled that “for the growth of the oil and gas infrastructure, the Minister had led a bilateral talks on the Nigeria – Morocco Gas Pipeline project spanning 13 West African countries with a spur to Spain for European gas export.”
“Also, the Minister, had commissioned the Ultra – Modern 23, 000 Metric Tonnes LPG Vessel, Terminal 10 to achieve further development of in – country capacity to transport LPG from producers to the domestic markets.
“He also commissioned the 5.2 million metric standard cubic feet p/d (MMSCFD) CNG and Auto Gas facility at Illasamaja, Lagos State.
“As well as commissioned the ALH Gas processing plant, ANOH Gas Processing plant and the 23.3 KMX36 inch ANOH – OB3 Gas Pipeline projects in Delta and IMO States respectively, among other development projects he is currently doing in the gas sector,” he added.
Comrade Fidelis further commnded the Senate President for his leadership at the National Assembly stating that Nigerians should continue to support him to make better legislations for the socio – economic growth of the country.
