A group within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) named Northern APC Advocacy Mobilisation Forum has backed Professor Muhammad Kailani from the North Central geopolitical zone to be chosen as the party’s next national chairman.
Muhammad was former director-general of APC Amalgamated Support Groups.
Addressing a press conference in Kaduna, the forum’s national coordinator, Dr. Awwal Abdullahi Aliyu, said Muhammad’s exceptional leadership qualities and deep-rooted party loyalty made him the best fit to steer the APC at this critical juncture.
Aliyu said Kailani is not just a seasoned strategist but a consummate grassroots mobilizer whose efforts have earned him widespread acceptance across Nigeria. “He has walked with this party from its teething years, and never wavered in his dedication,” Dr. Aliyu declared.
“He is a strategic thinker, results-driven, and understands the sacrifices of thousands of volunteers who form the bedrock of our party’s structure,” the forum said.
The group maintained that appointing Muhammad would be a bold statement of APC’s commitment to meritocracy and inclusivity, stressing that the move would reinvigorate the party’s base and restore public confidence.
