The stakeholders, which comprised APC chieftains, leaders, elders, youths, members, and supporters of the party in the senatorial district, reaffirmed their commitment to achieving the creation of Anioma state from the present Delta State.

The party’s chieftain, Chief Emma Ejiofor, stated this over the weekend at Idumuje Ugboko, Aniocha North local government area, the country home of Senator Prince Ned Nwoko, who represents Delta North senatorial district, during the party’s stakeholders meeting.

While soliciting their support for the creation of Anioma state, he disclosed that “any member of the Delta State House of Assembly from the senatorial district that refuses to support the creation of Anioma state would be recalled by the electorate in their constituencies.”

Earlier, in an address of welcome, Senator Nwoko assured all APC leaders and stakeholders that the creation of Anioma state is a done deal and that the stakeholders have resolved to work for stronger unity of the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He revealed that they have taken all the steps in the Senate to achieve that, as 75 senators are supporting the creation of Anioma state. “We are on course. The technical committee will be inaugurated in Asaba to help me work towards actualizing the creation of Anioma state.”

“If you were at Agbor during the APC stakeholders gathering, you heard when the National Chairman of the APC, Alhaji Umar Ganduje, said the creation of Anioma state is a done deal. We have moved from the committee stage of the process to public hearing coming up in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state. Thereafter, we will come back to the Senate for third reading of the bill for the creation of Anioma state,” the senator assured.

A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon Nicholas Ossai, said Anioma state creation is a reality. “We must support Senator Ned Nwoko to achieve this feat because when we have our state, we will have more local government areas created, and many other benefits in the new state. Anioma state should be supported by everybody,” he said.

The forum in a motion moved by Ossai, seconded by Chief Felix Ndukwe and unanimously supported in a voice votes by all those present, resolved that a Leadership Council should be established to be headed by Senator Nwoko, and co- chaired by the APC Delta North Senatorial District Chairman to ensure that all critical leaders and stakeholders of the party in the district are carried along in the affairs of the party within the senatorial district.

Their motion included a vote of confidence in favour of President Bola Tinubu, because he is doing well, Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori over the dualized Ughelli–Asaba road and Senator Ned Nwoko for commendable representation.

Senator Nwoko, announced the award of a four-year full scholarship for 10 students in each of the nine local government areas of Delta north which make up the Anioma axis of the state at his private Sports University, Idumuje Ugboko.

Former speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Victor Ochei, called for the reconciliation of aggrieved party members to strengthen unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“We are not having a party to divide us. We are having a party to unify and unite everybody. We must unite the party, particularly in Delta North”, Ochei stated.
