All Progressives Congress (APC) is in for another crisis as the executive committee of Galadima ward in Gusau local government area in Zamfara State has suspended the state’s party chairman, Hon Tukur Danfulani.
The Galadima ward executives announced Danfulani’s suspension at a press conference at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja yesterday after delivering a letter of suspension addressed to the party’s national chairman, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
The ward’s youth leader, Abahuraira Ilyasu, who spoke on behalf of the executive, said Danfulani was suspended for causing disunity in the party and also accused him of politics of segregation between party members.
Ilyasu called on the APC national headquarters to appoint a caretaker chairman to led the party before the next convention.
“The executive members of the APC Galadima Ward of Gusau local government area, Zamfara State wish to inform you that after due consultation with stockholders and a series of meetings, we have concluded to suspend the state party chairman Hon. Tukur Danfulani.
“The reasons behind his suspension include; lack of paying attention to party activities at the ward level, causing disunity among party members across all levels in the state, misplacement of duties and responsibilities, politics of segregation between party members among numerous issues.
“Because of this, sixteen out of 27 ward executives have signed for the suspension and remains our stand. We are, therefore, calling on the APC national headquarters to send a caretaker chairman who will lead the affairs of the party before the next convention.” he said.
