The All Progressive Congress (APC) Taraba State chapter has welcomed the appointment of the gubernatorial candidate of the party in the 2023 general election, Sen Emmanuel Bwacha, as chairman, board of Federal College of Education, Asaba, Delta State.

This was made known by the state director of Publicity, APC, Mr Aaron Artimas yesterday while speaking with LEADERSHIP Sunday on the expectations of the party members and the people of the state.

He said people should be happy that President Bola Tinubu has recognised Bwacha by giving him an opportunity to contribute his wealth of knowledge to his administration.

Bwacha was a former member of the House of Representatives, Takum, Donga Ussa federal constituency from 1999 and former senator who represented southern Taraba from 2011 to 2019 was the gubernatorial flagbearer of the APC in the 2023 general election.

Artimas said, “An appointment is an appointment. We know that party members and the people of the state are expecting that Sen Bwacha should be appointed into one of the more lucrative sectors but the issue here is a call to service. Being appointed as chairman of board of the College does not stop Mr President from giving him another opportunity to serve somewhere too.

“Sen Bwacha is highly regarded by the APC as a party. He is not looking at how much an appointment can offer him but how well he can serve the nation. It is our prayer that God will give him the strength to serve well.”

LEADERSHIP Sunday reports that President Bola Tinubu had on Friday approved the reconstitution of governing councils and boards of federal universities, polytechnics and colleges of education for effective management of the institutions across Nigeria.
