APC Wins Chairmanship In All Gombe LGs

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State has won chairmanship seats in all the 11 local government areas of the state conducted yesterday.

Five political parties including the All Progressives Congress (APC), People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Young People’s Party (YPP), Accord and Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) participated in the election.

The returning officer and chairman of Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission (GOSIEC) Sa’idu Awak who announced the results said the APC also won all the councillorship position unopposed in the 114 wards.

Awak noted that in Gombe local government, APC’s Sani Haruna won with 72,286 votes to beat PDP’s candidate who got 1,678 votes. While for Kwami local government, the winner is Ahmed Doho who polled 29,073 against

PDP’s 1,930 votes.

In Balanga, Ibrahim Salisu won with 35,493 votes as PDP scored184 votes. In Billiri,

APC’s Egla Idris got 33,979 to win the election as PDP candidate got 2,088.

Akko, APC’s Mohammed Adamu was declared winner having scored 65,066 against PDP’s 3,058. In Funakaye, Shuaibu Abdulrahman of the APC polled 36,026 votes to beat PDP candidate with 3,094 votes.

In Yamaltu-Deba, APC candidate Abubakar Difa scored 57,546 votes to win PDP with 1,334 votes. While in Dukku, APC candidate Adamu Waziri won with 26,869 against PDP’s 4,821 votes. The chairman said in Nafada local government, APC scored 17,977 votes by its candidate Babangida Adamu against PDP’s 355 votes.

However, in Kaltungo and Shongom local government areas, the APC candidates Iliya Suleiman Jatali and Binta Bello emerged winners unopposed.
