The Riyom Youth Council (RYC) of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Plateau State has strongly condemned the recent attacks in Rim, Jol, Bachit, Fan, Nding, and parts of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, which led to the loss of innocent lives and destruction of property.

RYC also fumed over the senseless killings innocent citizens and described it as barbaric, painful, inhuman, and unacceptable.

According to them, it is a great setback capable of threatening the peaceful coexistence that the people have laboured hard to sustain over the years.

The chairman of the group Pam Nuhu Daniel, and secretary Patience Chaimang, made their position known while addressing newsmen in Jos the Plateau state capital.

They urged the youths in Riyom LGA not to take the law into their hands or allow themselves to be used by enemies of peace to cause further violence.

“We must remain law-abiding and continue to work together for peace, unity, and stability. We also call on security agencies to intensify efforts toward arresting the perpetrators of these heinous acts and ensuring that justice is served,” it stated.

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the group insisted that after careful assessment of the performance of Hon. Dalyop Fom Chollom, member representing Barki Ladi/Riyom federal constituency, they have unanimously resolved that he should be allowed to return for a second term in office.

According to them,
Chollom’s accessibility, quality representation, and commitment to the welfare of constituents always endeared him to the people.

They further appealed to all aspirants and political actors to place the overall interest of the constituency above personal ambition and respect the zoning understanding already established by the elders in the area
