Hussaini Yusuf Datti of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the Dawakin Kudu State Constituency by-election in Kano State.
The election was held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, following the vacancy in the constituency’s seat at the Kano State House of Assembly.
LEADERSHIP reports residents of Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area turned out to vote for their preferred candidate, with the exercise conducted peacefully.
After the conclusion of voting, counting and collation of results, the APC candidate, Hussaini Yusuf Datti, was declared the winner of the election.
The Kano State Police Command commended residents for their peaceful conduct and cooperation with security personnel during the election.
The command said the cooperation of residents contributed to the peaceful conduct of the exercise.
