APM Chairman Laments Worsening Plight Of Nigerians

National chairman of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) Alhaji Yusuf Mamman Dantalle has lamented the state of the nation.

He said the situation is so terrible that citizens are killed, kidnapped and tortured daily.

Dantalle said government at all levels had woefully failed to protect and secure the populace in clear violation of Section 14(2)b of the 1999 Constitution as amended, which states that the security and welfare of the people shall be the primary purpose of government.

He noted sadly that Nigerians have experienced more carnage than dividends of democracy since 1999 when the nation returned to representative governance.

The party chairman spoke in Abuja yesterday at the national convention of the party in which he was reelected the national chairman, held at the national secretariat of the party and witnessed by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He said in his acceptance speech that the forthcoming 2023 general election provides another opportunity to save the nation from clueless leadership, adding that the party fielded credible candidates to contest various offices.

“APM is the only political party that fielded a female presidential candidate in the country, Her Excellency, Princess Chichi Ojei, a prominent Delta State born politician and astute administrator. The party is gender and youth friendly, and will go into the general election to win and rescue Nigeria from the hands of the cabal and political hirelings masquerading as democrats who have held citizens hostage and inflicted maximum sufferings on them through ill-conceived policies and actions,” he said.

Dantalle said with the emergence of new leadership of the party and candidates for the 2023 polls, APM is set for nationwide campaigns in September in line with INEC guidelines for the 2023 general election. He revealed that a formidable Presidential Campaign Council will soon be announced, the same way various Governorship and Legislative Campaign Councils will be set up to ensure resounding victory for all APM candidates.

He observed that Nigerians have suffered enough from recycled politicians who have nothing to offer except pains, depression and confusion that have impoverished the country and turned the giant of Africa into the poverty capital of the world besieged by terrorists, insurgents, bandits, militants and kidnappers.

“Allied People’s Movement, if voted into power in 2023 will turnaround the destiny of our bewildered nation and restore its prestige in the comity of nations. The Party promises a breath of fresh air in governance and compassionate leadership, a departure from the maximum dictatorship of the outgoing All Progressives Congress-led government.

Power will be returned to the people on whom sovereignty resides. Nigerians shall be free again.

“Together, we will rebuild our nation, our students will return to school, our youth will be gainfully employed, our economy will bounce back, naira will strengthen and appreciate regularly. Nigerians will live in peace together as one people. All is to create an enabling environment for peace, justice, equity and prosperity. APM manifesto which serves as the Party’s social contract with Nigerians and blueprint for socio-economic and political development of the nation will be massively released to the public soon,” he added.

He urged Nigerians to participate actively in the electoral process, adding that with the new technology introduced by INEC in conducting elections, he has no doubt that people’s vote will count in the general election and the APM government will emerge to make Nigeria great again.
