The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja on Thursday dismissed the appeal filed against the candidature of Barr. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The Court presided by Justice Gafai upheld the argument of J.J. Usman (SAN) on behalf of Natasha held that the Deponents of the affidavits in support of the originating summons who were not delegates cannot challenge the delegate election.
The Court held further that the hand written purported delegate list by the appellant lacks evidential value relying on the certified true copies of the delegate election results and the primary election tendered by Akpoti-Uduaghan, the court held that the election of Akpoti-Uduaghan is upheld.
The court held that the appeal lacks merit and was dismissed in its entirety.
Recall that Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan had been in the News for allegations bothering on Terrorism that was levied against her by Kogi State Government. Bar. Natasha was accused to having connection with a suspected terrorist that was arrested some days ago by security agencies but she has been in the Media replying Kogi state with evidences that the allegations are baseless and weightless.
