The Yobe State Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Garba Bilal has charged the 76 civil servants trained at the Administration Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), Lagos, to put into practice what they have learned for efficiency in service delivery.
Bilal gave the charge when the 76 trained officers led by the programme facilitator at the head of the civil service, Ibrahim Bulama Yusuf called on him for a ‘thank you visit’ at his office in Damaturu.
Alhaji Garba Bilal said the administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni has since inception promised to strengthen the civil service through training hence the selection of reputable institutions by the state government for the exercise.
“I am delighted to be with you for the second time as the last time we met was when you people were preparing to travel to Lagos and happily each and everyone of you has returned back to his family and indeed his office without any problem.
“I would like to equally employ you to please make good use of what you have learned in the course of your training.
“It would be improper for you to travel all the way from Damaturu to Lagos with the government spending huge sums of money on you without impacting the knowledge you’ve learnt not only to your subordinate but to make good use of it in the office,” Bilal charged.
The facilitator of the ASCON Programme in the office of the head of service, Comrade Ibrahim Bulama Yusuf said the 76 participants from Yobe have during the training done well with several encomiums from the management of the institution.
Also, the trainees, director Human Resources of the Ministry of Agriculture Idriss Abubakar and Malla Ya’u Sabo from the Science and Technical Board commended the head of service for prioritizing the training and retraining of civil servants.
