A group under the aegis of Coalition of Indigenous Youths Nationalities in Plateau State has called on President Bola Tinubu to, as a matter of urgency, appoint a replacement for Senator Simon Lalong, who resigned as minister of labour and employment to represent the people of Plateau South in the National Assembly.
The leader of the group, Comrade Paul Dekete, made the call while addressing a press conference in Jos and lamented that the president’s delay in appointing a new minister to fill in the gap created by Simon Lalong’s exit is a total disservice to the good of Plateau State. According to him, denying Plateau participation in the federal executive council’s meeting for over seven years is unfair.
“This action to exclude Plateau in running the country’s affairs in the capacity of ministerial appointment as enshrined in the constitution is undemocratic and unacceptable.”
According to the group, capable and eligible hands in the state can handle any ministry.
