The presiding Archbishop of Dominion Chapel International Churches, Archbishop John Praise Daniel, has urged the federal government to reduce taxes on goods and commodities, a move that would stabilise the economy and alleviate suffering and hunger in the nation.

Daniel, who also serves as the national deputy president of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) and chairman of the Northern Coalition of Bishops and Apostles (NOCOBA), made the call yesterday in Abuja during bishop-elect Sally Williams Chinebu’s consecration.

He encouraged looking beyond immediate hardships, drawing on biblical stories of overcoming famine through faith and perseverance.

“We congratulate this government,” he said, acknowledging positive steps such as the return of farmers to their fields, which he believes will result in a bountiful harvest and relief from current hardships.

Daniel also emphasised the youth’s need for patience and commitment, cautioning against the unrest observed in other nations.

He commended Chinebu on her new role and highlighted her dual position as a bishop and a political figure.

He expressed confidence that she would make a significant impact by combating corruption and promoting integrity in Nigeria.

The archbishop underscored the importance of increasing labourers in the kingdom, referencing biblical teachings that “the harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few.”

“We thank God for this season as we consecrate Chinebu to expand the workforce within the kingdom,” he stated.

Also, Bishop Chinebu expressed overwhelming joy and gratitude for the opportunity to serve as a bishop.
She emphasised that her consecration symbolises a heightened commitment to serving humanity.

“Service to God is service to humanity,” she affirmed, emphasising her dedication to righteousness and grace.

Chinebu noted the symbolic significance of her consecration date, July 5th, representing grace and perfection.

She called for prayers for those in authority and urged the government to heed the people’s concerns to prevent unrest similar to that witnessed in Kenya.
