The National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola said the party is positioned to rescue Nigeria in 2027 from what he called the destructive policies and governance of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Aregbesola stated this while speaking at an ADC stakeholders’ meeting in Lagos, and also accused the APC, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP) of lacking the vision to address the country’s needs.
The former Minister of Interior under the APC-led administration of late former President Muhammadu Buhari, stated that political parties like the APC, PDP, and LP have failed to offer a democratic platform for good governance.
He emphasised that the ADC offers Nigerians a new deal to revitalise the nation.
Aregbesola encouraged attendees at the meeting to actively participate in the ADC’s mass membership drive and promised to provide all necessary support for their success.
He said, “I urge you to go out and spread the message of the ADC to all Nigerians, especially those in your local government areas.
“Inform them that a new era of hope and opportunity awaits them in our party, as we promise to set Nigeria back on the path of development and progress,” he stated.
Present at the event were former Commissioner for Housing and Lagos State Influencer, Hon. Rahman Owokoniran, and the state Chairman of the party, George Ashiru, among other party leaders.
In his welcome address, Kosofe local government area Influencer of the ADC, Hon. Funmi Onita-Coker thanked attendees for their time and patience and emphasised the importance of mobilising new members into the ADC.
Ashiru also acknowledged the growing number of new members willing to join the ADC and promised to provide honest and transparent leadership that guarantees equal opportunities for all new and existing members.
