Rebuild Arewa Initiative for Development (R.A.I.D) has condemned the planned August 1st nationwide protest, saying that it is not the answer to the lingering problem of Nigeria.

The group, however said the
the only way to quell the current national feud multifaceted protests that could be infiltrated and hijacked like the ENDSARS, is to restore subsidies on fuel, electricity, transportation to force down prices of essential commodities.

In a communique issued at the end of its stakeholders’engagement on the state of the nation, the group
said mass actions/ protest is a constitutional gift to the citizens meant to improve good governance, strengthen Democracy, hold leaders accountable.

However, it said mass action/ protests often turn out to be something else negative in the third world countries most especially Africa.
