The 7th Ekiti State House of Assembly was on Tuesday inaugurated with the lawmaker representing Ikole Constituency 2, Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, elected as Speaker of the House.

The daughter of the late former deputy governor of the State, Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi, who is the lawmaker representing Ado Constituency 2, Mrs. Bolaji Adediwura Olagbaju, emerged the Deputy Speaker.

The new Assembly was inaugurated through a proclamation letter forwarded by the State governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, and read by the Clerk, Mr. Tola Esan, after which the new legislators took their oath of office.

The new Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aribasoye, previously served as chairman of the House Committee on Media and Publicity in the sixth Assembly while
Rt. Hon. Egbeyemi-Olagbaju’s served as Senior Special Assistant to the immediate-past Governor Kayode Fayemi.
