In a statement issued to journalists yesterday in Birnin Kebbi by the Public Relations Officer of Customs Command, Superintendent of Customs Mohammed Tajudeen Salisu mentioned the victims as Assistant Superintendent Customs Dabo Umar, who lost his life and Superintendent of Customs Babagana Abba Kabiru , who was abducted.

The statement added that the deceased officer’s corpse was retrieved and conveyed to Kaduna for burial according to Islamic rites, while a manhunt has been launched for the killers and abductors of the officers.

The PRO however said the Customs Area Controller (CAC) Iheanacho Ernest Ojike has since commiserated with the family of the deceased and working for the release of the abducted officer.

He also said the command will continue to provide updates on how to secure the release of the kidnap victim.
