Army Assures Officers Of Fairness In Promotion Examination

Commander of Training and Doctrine Command of the Nigerian Army, Major General KO Aligbe, has assured officers writing the practical promotion examination 2024 from Lieutenant to Captain of fairness and transparency.
Aligbe, who stated this in Jos, Plateau State venue of the event, said they shall in the conduct of the examination be guided by good conscience and the extant provisions of the Nigeria Army Charter on Examination stressing that they will be firm but fair to all.

According to the examination president, the committee will not tolerate any actions that would jeopardize the integrity of the process while challenging the officers to remain focused, intuitive and confident in their abilities to carry out all the tasks before them.
He also disclosed that they are not there to fail anybody stressing that the 2024 examination is a professional military education in the course of their career and is based on integrity , while urging participants not to cheat and that anyone found wanting will be disqualified.

Earlier, in his opening remarks, the General Officer Commanding 3 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), Major General AE Abubakar said the examination is to assess their proficiency as well as develop their leadership capabilities for higher responsibilities in the Nigerian Army.
He also explained that it seeks to expand their knowledge and understanding of various aspects of military operations, including counterterrorism and counterinsurgency operations, internal security operations, navigation, as well as hybrid operations, which are all imperative in addressing the myriad of the current security challenges facing the country.

The OPSH Commander added that their performance is crucial for career advancement and it is essential that each of them approach it with utmost seriousness and determination as the Nigerian Army strive to curtail all forms of threat to national security.
