The training will continue impacting officers, men and soldiers of the Nigerian Army for effective leadership during operations.

The Commandant of TRADOC of the Nigerian Army, Major General Kevin Aligbe, in his keynote address at the leadership training held at the TRADOC headquarters in Minna yesterday, said that TRADOC as a training unit of the Nigerian Army was committed to training and retraining of the army.

He said the command would not relent in its mandate to impact the knowledge of its personnel to equip them with the present trends of insecurity in the country.

General Aligbe said the theme, “Enhancing Doctrine and Combat Development in the Nigerian Army For Effective Leadership in a Joint Environment,” was carefully crafted to enhance the leadership skills and capacities of Nigerian Army personnel operating within a joint environment.

Major General Kevin Aligbe, therefore urged participants to make proper use of the knowledge acquired from the training for combating the current security challenges because they will be better equipped during the training.

In his remarks, the chief of Doctrine and Combat Development in TRADOC Nigerian Army Headquarters in Minna, Major General Jaleel Jimoh, said the objective of the workshop is to provide a veritable tool and strategies for effective team management tailored towards enhancing decision-making abilities in the military.

He said the workshop will help commanders at all levels to lead their subordinates effectively during military engagements while fostering cohesion for better operational outcomes.

” Let me quickly remind us that effective and pragmatic leadership is a panacea for the success of any military operation within a Joint environment. It is therefore important for us as seasoned officers of the Nigerian Army to be able to imbibe the spirit of good leadership towards our subordinates both in peace and war times to achieve positive outcomes in our operations,” he pointed out.

He noted the Nigerian Army’s experiences over a decade in fighting insurgency in retrospect, adding that the workshop will not only expose participants to effective and visionary leadership ” but will better position and equip them to conduct future training and operations effectively”

Major General Jimoh stated that the event would be facilitated by well-seasoned and erudite resource persons who would bring their vast wealth of knowledge in delivering lectures bordering on effective leadership.
