Melaye made this remark in Ayingba, Dekina local government area of the state during a stakeholders meeting with Kogi East PDP caucus.

He said “If elected I will not be an Okun people governor, I will not be a Christian governor and I will not be bias in all my doing, I will be a true governor of Kogi State that will rule with the fear of his creator, God”.

Dino also promised to reset the Kogi economy for the better by consulting elders in the land before final decisions are made.

He promised to absolve back into the state civil service those who were laid off during last retrenchment exercise by the present administration in the state.

“I will ensure prompt payment of salaries and pensions of all workers, no workers will be owed during our administration if elected”.

In his own remarks the former governor of the state, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, assured PDP members at the meeting that Melaye will not disappoint if elected as governor.

“Senator Dino will deliver if elected, I’m sure he will develop the state more than I did as a governor,” he said.

The former governor officially presented Melaye and his Deputy Hajjia Habiba Deen to the gathering.
