ASR Africa Inaugurates N350m Lecture Theatre At Adamawa Varsity

The Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative (ASR Africa) has inaugurated a N350 million, 500-seat capacity lecture theatre at Adamawa State University (ADSU), Mubi, as part of its Tertiary Education Grant Scheme aimed at bridging infrastructure gaps in Nigerian universities.

The project also includes four boreholes to enhance access to potable water on campus.

Speaking during the inauguration recently, the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Augustine Clement, commended ASR Africa and its Chairman, Abdul Samad Rabiu, for their commitment to supporting education in Nigeria. He said the facility would be immediately put to use for the benefit of students and lecturers.

Dr Ubon Udoh, Managing Director of ASR Africa, lauded the university for meeting the criteria required to benefit from the grant.

He said the projedemonstrates ASR Africa’s dedication to fulfilling its development promises in education, health, and social development across the continent.

Representing the Chairman of ASR Africa, Dr Idi Hong, Director of Government Relations, expressed appreciation to the university for cooperating with the ASR Africa team. He said the project’s timely completion despite economic challenges reflects Abdul Samad Rabiu’s unwavering passion for education and human development.

The Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, who was joined by his Borno State counterpart, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, commended ASR Africa for the donation. He described the project as timely and impactful, noting that it would enhance learning conditions, expand teaching spaces, and provide a more conducive environment for academic activities at the institution.

The commissioning coincided with the university’s combined 15th, 16th, and 17th convocation ceremonies, during which ASR Africa Chairman Abdul Samad Rabiu was conferred an honorary doctorate in recognition of his outstanding philanthropic contributions to education and national development.
