Afrobeats musician, Seun Kuti, has turned himself in at the Lagos State Police Command headquarters days after he was seen in a viral video assaulting a policeman in traffic.
LEADERSHIP reports that the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, and the Police Service Commission (PSC) immediately reacted with the IGP ordering for the Musician’s immediate arrest.
Seun Kuti, however, in the early hours of Monday turned himself in at the Lagos State Police Command in Ikeja, in company of his lawyer and a family representative.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Benjamin Hundeyin, who took to his social media handles to annouce the development, the musician has been placed under arrest in line with the law.
Seun, the controversial son of the late Afrobeats legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, is likely to be charged for assault.
