President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has celebrated Prince Samuel Adedoyin, founder of the Doyin Group of Companies, describing the nonagenarian industrialist as an enduring symbol of enterprise, resilience and patriotic commitment as he marks his 90th birthday.

In a tribute he signed yesterday, the president described Adedoyin as “an extraordinary industrialist and philanthropist” whose decades of work in manufacturing have left “deep and defining footprints” on Nigeria’s economic landscape.

Tinubu said the Doyin Group chairman represents “one of Nigeria’s finest examples of industry, resilience, and unwavering faith in the promise of our country,” noting that his entrepreneurial achievements have created opportunities for countless Nigerians and strengthened the nation’s productive base.

“Through sheer determination, brilliance, and integrity, he built enterprises that continue to contribute significantly to our economy,” the President said. “His life’s journey shows what is possible through hard work, discipline, and the courage to believe in Nigeria,” he said.

Tinubu commended Adedoyin’s generosity toward the vulnerable and his longstanding investments in education and community development, saying these values have cemented a legacy that “transcends generations.”

The president also reflected on Adedoyin’s remarkable rise, describing him as “a classic Lagos success story.”

He noted that the industrialist arrived in Lagos as a teenager from Agbamu in Kwara State, equipped only with determination and the drive to succeed, and went on to become an integral part of the state’s social and economic fabric for more than seven decades.

Tinubu added that Adedoyin’s affection for his hometown of Agbamu has remained strong despite his towering accomplishments in Lagos, underscoring his deep sense of identity and patriotism.

He expressed personal admiration for the nonagenarian, describing their relationship as warm and longstanding. He praised Adedoyin’s strength of character, especially in moments of adversity and personal loss.

“As Baba Adedoyin marks this remarkable milestone, I celebrate his purposeful and impactful life as a cherished leader whose wisdom enriches our society,” Tinubu said, praying for continued grace, peace and strength for the industrialist.
