The Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Adetunji Olanipekun Larooye II, has been appointed by Governor Ademola Adeleke to head a land crisis resolution committee constituted to resolve the land dispute between Ifon Orolu, Ilobu and Erin Osun communities in Osun State.
The committee consists of 25 representatives for each of the warring communities, while the state government will equally be represented by 25 members.
A retired judge of Osun State Judiciary and Chairman, Osun State Boundary Commission, Justice Moshood Adekunle Adeigbe, is to serve as the co-chairman.
Speaking with newsmen in Osogbo on Friday, commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi disclosed that Governor Adeleke put in place the committee with a view to bringing a lasting end to the incessant land disputes among the three affected communities.
According to him, four other traditional rulers on the panel are Oba Abioye Oyebode, Olokuku of Okuku; Oba Adams Iyiola Bamidele Yusuf, Oloba of Oba Oke; Oba Adekeye Oyedare, Oloyan of Oyan and Oba Akeem Ogungbamgbe, Owaloko of Iloko-Ijesa.
He named Mr Umar Abba Mohammed, Osun State CP, Mr Ayoola Kehinde, state director, DSS, Brig. Gen. Aliu Mohammed, commander E.C.C, Ede, Mr Sotiyobo Igbalawola, Osun commander, NSCDC, Mr Anthony Chikezie, commander, State Immigration Service, Dr Adekunle Omoyele, state commander, Amotekun Corps, and SA to the governor on security, Barrister Dare Ojo, as members.
Others include NBA, Osogbo branch chairman, Mr Yemi Abiona, chairman, NBA, Ikirun, Mr Niyi Akinsola, chairman, NBA, Ile Ife, Mr Tope Olajoko, chairman, NBA, Ilesa, Mr Raymond Oki, Mr Soladoye Abioye, the surveyor-general of the state, Dr Sodiq Olohunde, Office of CoS to the governor among others.
Oluomo Kolapo announced that Governor Adeleke, will on Tuesday, inaugurate the committee in Osogbo.
