Rector of Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic (ATAP), Bauchi, Dr Hashim Sabo Bello, has called on newly matriculated students to remain dedicated to their academic pursuits and uphold discipline throughout their stay on campus.
During the matriculation ceremony for 1,452 newly admitted students, the rector emphasised the institution’s zero tolerance for all forms of misconduct, including cultism, examination malpractice, sexual harassment, drug abuse, indecent dressing, vandalism, and truancy.
Represented by his deputy, Alawiya A. Musa, Dr Bello added that, „Matriculation is a fundamental requirement that qualifies an admitted student as a bona fide member of a tertiary institution.“
He further stressed ATAP’s commitment to delivering quality education and character development to produce responsible citizens.
Hashim also appreciated Governor Bala Mohammed‘s support for his administration’s efforts in improving the institution‘s infrastructure.
He highlighted the construction of access roads, the acquisition of land for expansion, and the provision of funds for accreditation as key areas of progress under the governor’s leadership.
