Abia State commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Paul Igwebuike, has said the vision of the commandant general of the corps, Ahmed Audi, is on course in the state.

Igwebuike stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to the chairman/chief executive officer of Geometric Group Ltd, Barth Nnaji in his office in Aba, the commercial city of the state.

He reiterated the commitment of the command to provide adequate security to lives and public infrastructure in the state and urged vandals to relocate or be ready to face the consequences.

“Adequate and steady power supply, we know, is critical to the development of every society. And I want to commend you and the company for working towards achieving this in the state,” he added.

Igwebuike, who was later taken around the facility by the chief executive officer, proffered useful advice to him on how to protect the company’s facilities from vandalisation.

He, thereafter, solicited the assistance of the company by providing the command with operational Hilux Vans and other logistics to enhance its operations.

In his response, Nnaji extolled the commitment and professionalism of the corps in the discharge of its duties which he said had led to drastic reduction in vandalisation of the company’s facilities.

He assured the commandant that the company will continue to support the corps in its efforts at fulfilling its mandates of protecting lives and property.

“We’re operating in nine out of the 17 local governments of the state. Our plans to provide steady power supply in them have reached advanced stages,” said the one-time minister of power.
