The African Union Sports Council Region 2 (AUSC Region 2) is delighted to announce a strategic partnership with ASKY Airlines, designating the carrier as the Official Airline Partner for the upcoming AUSC Region 2 Games 2026. The multi-sport event is scheduled to take place in Banjul, The Gambia, from 7th to 13th June 2026.
This collaboration between AUSC Region 2 and ASKY Airlines marks a significant step in strengthening ties between the sports sector and the aviation industry across West Africa. ASKY Airlines will provide vital travel and logistical support to participating teams, officials, and stakeholders attending the regional sporting spectacle.
The AUSC Region 2 Games serve as a premier event, bringing together athletes from member states across West Africa to foster youth development, regional integration, and sporting excellence. This partnership is expected to greatly enhance the efficient movement of athletes and delegations, ensuring the successful delivery of the Games.
Malam Shehu Dikko, Chair for the AUSC Region 2 Conference, emphasised the importance of such strategic partnerships in delivering world-class regional sporting events. The organisation noted that ASKY Airlines’ extensive network across Africa makes it an ideal partner for facilitating travel and strengthening connectivity among participating nations.
