Gallup Certified Strengths Coach, Foluso Gbadamosi, has charged parents, teachers and relevant education stakeholders to identify talents in children earlier enough to nurture them along that path.
The author, who disclosed this at the unveiling of her latest book, ‘Unleash Your SuperPowers for Teens’ alongside its companion guide for adults, in Victoria Island, Lagos noted that, “it’s important for young people to figure out their talents and personality types early on, something many of us didn’t discover or pay attention to until we were older.”
She stressed the importance of supporting teens in discovering their unique talents and personality traits, allowing them to be nurtured in the right direction.
Gbadamosi further explained the stages of unleashing one’s potentials, emphasising that, raw talents must be developed intentionally to become strengths, adding that, “Your talents in their raw forms are not strengths—aka SuperPowers.
You need to intentionally develop them. When you discover, develop, and deploy your talents into strengths, that’s when they become SuperPowers, and you can dominate with them!”
She also highlighted the crucial role of supportive adults, urging parents, guardians, and teachers to help teens recognize their strengths.
“It’s up to us to tell the teens in our lives what we see in them that is special. The companion guide is specifically for adults to help teenagers discover, develop, and deploy their SuperPowers,” she pointed out.
