Osanipin further pledged that the government will make friendly policies to stimulate local production.

He stated this during the third day Local Auto Component Manufacturing Tour by NADDC in collaboration with the African Association of Auto Manufacturers (AAAM), a statement from his office said.

The team visited key automotive facilities in Enugu and Anambra States, including Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing and Anambra Motor Manufacturing Company (ANAMCO). The tour is aimed at boosting Nigeria’s automotive sector.

NADDC director general who emphasised the critical role of supporting local industries to drive growth, improve quality, and create jobs, noted Nigeria’s potential to leverage its manufacturing capabilities, especially in plastic components, to enhance its position in Africa’s automotive market.

Osanipin commended Innoson’s advanced equipment and discussed future collaborations to meet international standards.

While acknowledging ANAMCO’s infrastructure, he pointed out production challenges due to market demand issues and pledged the government’s friendly policies to stimulate local production.

On his part, founder of Innoson, Chief Dr. Innocent Chukwuma, commended the collaborative spirit among African manufacturers and their shared goal of expanding production capacity.

He reaffirmed his commitment to the federal government’s CNG Automotive Initiative.
