The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO Aviance) has continued its impactful Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives with the latest being the sponsorship of school debates for primary schools in Oshodi – Isolo Local Government Area of Lagos State.

The company, which reiterated its commitment to the implementation of meaningful projects in communities in its operational areas, said it would exceed all expectations in the area of CSR.

The group managing director/CEO of the company, Olumuyiwa Olumekun, while speaking during the prize awarding ceremony, said that over the years, NAHCO had always made timely intervention in host communities in key areas, including the provision of borehole water, the donation of relief materials to IDPs and the sponsorship of education infrastructure.

Olumekun, who was represented by Assistant General Manager, Corporate Communications, Tayo Ajakaye, congratulated the winners of this year’s edition, Mafoluku Primary School.

He also applauded the silver winner, State Primary School, Oshodi; the bronze winner, Oshodi Model Primary School; and 4th place, Larinde Primary School.

The executive chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Otunba Kehinde Oloyede Almaroof, who was personally present at the showdown, commended NAHCO for sponsoring the competition. “This is really very impressive and we must thank NAHCO for this initiative,” the chairman said.

Otunba Almaroof also urged the Company to sustain its sponsorship of the event, while encouraging the Local Government Education Authority to increase the frequency of such competitions among schools in the LG area.

The championship, themed “Inspiring Young Voices, Building Tomorrow,” provided a platform for primary school students in the Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area of Lagos State to sharpen their oratory skills. It also provided an opportunity for students to cultivate a spirit of healthy competition, boost their public speaking confidence, and experience enriching opportunities beyond their traditional classroom settings.

The winner went home with half a million naira. The second-place winner got three hundred thousand naira, while the third-place winner got two hundred thousand naira.
