Awujale Stool: KWAM1’s Genealogical Linkage Form Signed By Unknown Family Unit Head – Fusengbuwa Ruling House

The Fusengbuwa Ruling House, next in line to produce the Awujale of Ijebu-Ode and the Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, on Thursday formally rejected the genealogical lineage claim of the popular Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, popularly known as KWAM1.

The ruling house declared the linkage form submitted by KWAM1 for the Awujale selection process as “null, void, and of no consequence”.

In a letter dated December 11, 2025, and addressed to the musician, the ruling house stated that its investigation into the genealogical paternity of the embattled musician neither establishes that KWAM1 hailed from the Jadiara Royal House nor the broader Fusengbuwa lineage, whose turn it is to produce the next Awujale of Ijebu land.

In the statement, addressed to KWAM1 and signed by the Chairman of Fusengbuwa Ruling House, Otunba Lateef Owoyemi and five other unit heads of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House, the family faulted the musician’s certification form, emphasising that it was endorsed by “a purported family unit head,” Adetayo Abayomi Oduneye, who is not a recognised member of the Jadiara Royal House.

“Our extensive investigation has not revealed any proof of your membership of the Jadiara Royal House or indeed that of Fusengbuwa Ruling House,” the statement read.

The family categorically stated that the said Oduneye lacked the “locus standi” to certify any lineage documents.

“Consequently, the completed linkage lineage form is hereby declared null, void and of no consequence. For the avoidance of doubt, your claim to the membership of Fusengbuwa Ruling House is rejected, and the completed form is of no consequence,” the statement added.

The Fusengbuwa’s Thursday statement, in which the family members of the ruling house publicly disowned the musician, was issued after an emergency meeting held in Ijebu Ode, where they insisted that he is not entitled to join the contest.

LEADERSHIP gathered that KWAM1 had submitted his genealogical lineage form after he was granted an extra five days beyond the official December 5 deadline.
