Axion Group has stated that its breakthrough products — Axion Hydroshield Polybond and Axion Totalcrete Cement — are engineered to deliver 100 per cent waterproof and crack-proof protection for walls, floors and building surfaces, offering a lasting solution to dampness and moisture-related defects.

According to the company, the new Canadian-technology products are designed as high-performance screeding materials that block entirely water penetration, eliminate rising damp, algae and prevent the early deterioration of building finishes. Builders, contractors and homeowners who have struggled with persistent damp walls, peeling paint, mould growth and structural weakening now have an affordable and technologically advanced option.

Axion Hydroshield Polybond is formulated to create a seamless waterproof barrier during screeding, ensuring that water cannot seep through concrete surfaces. When combined with the multipurpose Totalcrete Cement, the result is a reinforced screed layer that remains dry, strong and durable — even in moisture-prone areas.

The group chief executive of Axion Nigeria, Dr Oke Eze, urged stakeholders across the built environment — including architects, engineers, block makers, developers, and homeowners — to adopt modern, innovative construction technologies that guarantee safer, stronger, and more durable structures.

He emphasised that the rising cases of dampness, cracks, mould and early building deterioration stem largely from outdated methods and poor construction materials. “Hydroshield Polybond and Totalcrete Cement represent the future of waterproof construction in Nigeria. When people insist on the right products, we eliminate damp problems and improve the overall lifespan of our buildings,” he said.

Dr Eze further reiterated Axion’s commitment to providing science-driven solutions that reduce maintenance costs and prevent structural damage, stressing that adopting these products will help address one of the most common and expensive building challenges in the country.

With increasing demand for durable housing and infrastructure, Axion’s new waterproof screeding system is being positioned as a game-changer for the Nigerian construction industry.

Adding her voice to the launch, managing director of CM Services Limited, Catherine Kadiri, described the unveiling of Axion Innovative Construction Products as a milestone for the sector. She noted that the solutions were created to make construction work easier, faster and more reliable for professionals across the value chain.

Kadiri said the new products directly address the daily struggles faced by engineers, builders, technicians, and artisans — from harsh project-site conditions to repairs that fail to withstand the test of time. “Axion was created with you in mind,” she said. “These products are designed to solve real, everyday challenges — giving us better bonding, stronger protection, and faster application times. In simple terms, Axion helps us work smarter, not harder.”

She highlighted that beyond the technology behind the products, Axion represents a future where quality becomes consistent, and excellence is the new standard. According to her, the growing needs of communities and the rising expectations for durable infrastructure demand solutions that merge practicality with innovation.

“Construction is changing,” she said. “The future belongs to products that help us build strong roads, safe homes and lasting infrastructure. A future where challenges on-site don’t slow us down, where we build not just structures, but trust.”

Kadiri added that the unveiling of Axion products signals new opportunities for craftsmanship, efficiency and growth across the construction industry, expressing gratitude to partners and stakeholders who have supported the vision.

“Together, we are building better, building stronger and building a future we can all be proud of,” she concluded.
